On April 18, an in-person LWVSC Membership meeting was held at the Lynnwood Library and had 18 members in attendance. Kate Lunceford was our main speaker on the Tree Canopy Campaign and its importance to Climate Control. President Karen Crowley reported on League activities at the County, State, and National levels. She reminded everyone about the LWVSC annual meeting at Everett Station on May 22. There are a lot of active committees doing great work – Natural Resources, Candidate Forums, Redistricting, Marketing and Advertising, and Membership.
The League is looking for people to volunteer to reactivate the Education, Homeless/Children’s Services and Civil Discourse Programs.
Also, the Tapas and Topics nighttime in-person meeting was held at the RAM in Tulalip on April 25, with seven attendees. A review of the daytime meeting was given. There was a lot of conversation about reinvigorating the Education Committee to get the high school and colleges more involved in Civics Education.
