The reasons people left for why they love trees
LWVSC joined county services and other groups to celebrate Earth Day sponsored by the county’s Office of Energy and Sustainability at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds on April 27. A massive snake of vehicles crawled along a route to deliver tires, ovens, wires and mountains of Styrofoam into county bins.
We set up our booth to bring news about trees in urban areas and our state forest lands to passersby. Being hyper-vigilant about staying away from plastic, we opted for a cheap paper banner. Alas, the weather had its way with it in short order. But we signed folks up to hear from us when we begin to rally the community again to contact our government. Thanks to League members Carol McMahon, Erica Mustard and Clara Hsu for staffing our booth on a drizzly Northwest day.
