The 2025 Guide to Elected Officials Is Done!
The committee to update this year's Guide to Elected Officials is happy to announce that the guide is complete, printed, and on its way to libraries, schools, and other locations around the county.
Previously, the guide (formerly known as TRY) had been created in Adobe InDesign, which meant that we relied on an outside volunteer to update and format the digital file before it could be sent to the printer each year. This year, we imported the digital file into Canva, to which the League has a subscription. This means easier, quicker updates that we can do on our own. Having the guide in a format that we can edit is a huge step forward.
We also did a moderate redesign of the layout based on earlier feedback from the League leadership, and we borrowed some clean, crisp formatting from other Leagues in Washington state.
And more good news: Committee lead Erin Carr secured a Civic Education grant for next year, meaning that we can more easily fulfill our wish list for the 2026 guide, such as maps, QR codes, and translation.
Kudos to the Guide to Elected Officials committee: Erin Carr, Valerie Kelley, and Kim Henry Baumgartner. And thanks to Jeanne Crevier's dedicated team of couriers for delivering the finished product around the county. The guide is available and downloadable on the LWVSC
website.
