On the evening of Saturday, February 22, the League was presented with a unique opportunity to connect with the community. We were invited to set up an information table at Millennia Ministries' "Own Your Shine" event.
Millennia Ministries is dedicated to combating homelessness in Snohomish County by providing crisis, transition, and permanent housing, as well as food assistance. The organization also stands firm in empowering BIPOC individuals, single-parent families, immigrants, seniors, and others, advocating for their right to equitable belonging in society.
At the event, we not only represented the League and its mission, but also raised awareness about the importance of civic engagement and the power of having one's voice heard. Throughout the evening, we engaged in meaningful conversations on current events and civic participation, with at least two women joining the League as a result of our presence.
League member Marian Harrison was also honored at the event for her "Treasured Wisdom," a gift she generously shares with both the League and the broader community. Photos and a
