Upcoming Partner Events and Opportunities

Jen Winckler | Published on 6/2/2025

Sharing three upcoming events from Northwest WA Civics Circle with our members, as well as a job posting from the Elections Department:

Northwest WA Civic Circle is hosting two community discussions: one of the similarities and differences between Juneteenth and the Fourth of July, as well as a discussion on the significance of cultural holidays and celebrations in America.

Juneteenth Celebration: June 15th 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Hosted in partnership with the City of Mountlake Terrace and the Sno-Isle Libraries, this community event is a day of remembrance, education, and joy, honoring the African American emancipation and the end of the US Civil War.

Bridging the Gap: Part 1: Saturday, June 21, 2025 @ WSU Everett: Free
We will explore the differences and similarities between the two holidays, and how we as a nation can learn and celebrate together.

Bridging the Gap: Part 2: Saturday, June 28, 2025 @ Edmonds Theater | Cost: $5 (registration required)
A continuation of our Juneteenth and Fourth of July conversation, we will discuss several cultural holidays observed in the United States, and the addition of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as state-recognized holidays.
