November All-Member Meetings Were a Blast . . . of Information!

Jeanne Crevier | Published on 12/1/2025

Our daytime gathering, held at the Everett Library’s Evergreen Branch, brought members together for connection, conversation, and community impact. Thanks to your generosity, we collected an impressive supply of food donations for Hope for Homies. (You can learn more about their work here.) Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Our guest speakers offered an inside look at how our local schools are funded—and what’s ahead for voters at the next election:
  • Harmony Weinberg, Director of Communications for the Everett School District, walked us through the upcoming school construction bond and education levy that Everett voters will see on the February 10 special election ballot. (See details at https://www.everettsd.org/Page/43700.)
  • Lydia Sellie, Executive Director of Business and Finance for the Edmonds School District, explained the district’s proposed replacement educational programs and operations levy and what it means for students, staff, and the wider community. (See details at https://www.edmonds.wednet.edu/community/bonds-levies/2026-replacement-educational-programs-operations-levy.)
  • Duncan Clauson, Elections and Voter Outreach Specialist with Snohomish County Elections, clarified how bond and levy vote totals are calculated and what factors determine their passage. He also highlighted recent USPS process changes that may affect the timely delivery of completed ballots—an important reminder to mail early or use a ballot drop box whenever possible.
Here’s a recording of the presentations. This recording requires a passcode (Passcode: +DZ0.@Oqand is for members only – please do not share.

Evening Meeting Highlights and Recording

The evening Zoom meeting offered a concise recap of the day’s guest presentations, giving everyone a chance to catch the key information even if they couldn’t attend in person. We took a moment to introduce ourselves, read the Constitution’s preamble together, and hear updates from the committees actively working to empower voters and defend democracy.

We also walked through a few helpful tips for navigating our League website—how to find committee contacts, update your interests in your member profile, and explore opportunities to get involved through the events calendar.

You can watch the recording of the meeting.
