The importance of local news and the work of our League were both highlighted at an event we sponsored October 25 with My Neighborhood News Network at the Edmonds Theater.
The event included:
- The showing of Stripped for Parts, a documentary about how hedge funds took control of many legacy newspapers, sold off assets, and made severe cuts to newsrooms.
- A panel discussion and Q&A with local news representatives, including Brenda Mann Harrison, LWVSC president-elect.
- League volunteers who provided information about our candidate forums, Unite & Rise and Decline to Sign.
