Here are a few ways League members engaged in resisting threats to democracy this past month:

• We reviewed Unite & Rise Playbook 5 "People Powered Summer,"  focused on getting out the vote for the midterm elections and attended LWVUS’ webinar Introduction to Playbook 5 and the August 8 Day of Action.
• We Actioned on Daily Democracy Practices.
LWVUS hosted its monthly LWVUS Democracy Integrity Briefing (for League members only).
• We attended LWVUS’ Decision Breakdown: Louisiana v. Callais webinar ~ watch the recording here. The password is: 4tg#d21g
• We learned about LWVUS Voter Education Resources during the 2026 Election Cycle.
• We participated in LWVWA’s Redistricting Briefing: Putting People First.

The LWVWA continues its Decline to Sign campaign for IP26-500—an initiative to the people similar to the SAVE America Act. Learn more about the initiative and the LWVWA's Decline to Sign campaign. Notify your partners of the League's stance on IP26-500.

In June:

• Make time in your calendar to take action on daily democracy practices (for League members only).
• June 9th 12:30-1:30 P.M.: Attend the LWVUS Democracy Integrity Briefing (for League members only).
• June 14th: Attend a Flag Day street rally. The one in Lynnwood will be held 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

Aug 8: Nationwide day of Action
Join the League and our partners as we host a nationwide day of civic action in honor of the anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Leagues and partners will lead hundreds of activations across the country centered on increasing voter engagement, turnout, and education, with particular emphasis on young voters and community partnerships.
