LWV Welcoming Immigrants Study Meeting (in person)
About this event
Who is immigrating to Washington State and why does the League need to welcome them? The national League of Women Voters has positions on immigration that were last revised in 1982! Has the situation changed? Certainly for Washington: the legislature enacted a law affirming that our state should recognize and protect the value of immigrants. What does that mean for the LWVWA and Snohomish County?
The LWVWA has sent us a well-researched study to read, discuss and answer questions--and to form a consensus from which to develop new policy statements. It is this policy that allows the League to be able to speak up, write editorials, and take a stand.
Join an in-person discussion at Everett Public Library at noon.
There is a coffee shop on premises and our team will provide snacks to share. We recommend that you read the study to participate.
We hope that each of you will participate in this important process.
