Committees
Redistricting is a once-in-every-10-years opportunity to redraw our state voting-district maps. These maps affect your vote and your voice.
Redistricting
The LWVSC Centennial Committee led our commemoration of the important 100th anniversary of women obtaining the vote in the United States, and continues its work to document League history.
Centennial/History
The committee has advocated for the safety of children by concentrating its work on two major areas: sex trafficking of minors, and child and family homelessness in Snohomish County.
Children's Services
The committee promotes civil discourse through action and education for all government bodies, staff, and the public for the purpose of improved public policy decisions and processes.
Civil Discourse
The focus of our work is to develop and maintain our relationships with individuals and groups in the African American, Latino, Asian, Native American, and Muslim communities, and learn about their issues and priorities.
Diversity Outreach
We monitor legislation specific to Snohomish County, behavioral health, what local hospitals and clinics are doing, and the current state of reproductive health services.
Health Care
The Natural Resources Committee works to increase public awareness of the value, and interrelationships, of national, state, and local natural resources. We promote an understanding of climate change and encourage support for sustainable mitigations.
Natural Resources
Transportation is an important part of our everyday lives, and the committee is dedicated to learning about and informing county residents about current transportation modes and issues.
Transportation
All members can be involved in the work of this committee. Join us at forums on candidates or issues. Volunteer to help with voter registration efforts. Stay informed on local government activities. And, most importantly, be a consistent and well-informed voter!
Voter Services/Get Out The Vote
League observers learn how government works and about issues that are or may become topics for local study and action.
